Bronx, N.Y. – On a beautiful fall night under the Homecoming tent on Edwards Parade, the newest class of Fordham University Athletic Hall of Famers were formally inducted on October 7. Additionally, four Victory Bell Award were presented to those who have brought distinction and honor to Fordham University Athletics.

The 2021 Hall of Fame class is comprised of 13 former student-athletes who excelled on the playing fields for the Rams.
Â
Mehmet Ali Arat, GABELLI '11 (Water Polo)
- Joined the Rams as a graduate student for two years (2009 and 2010)
- Named All-American by the ACWPC both years, becoming the first Fordham water polo All-American since Eric Webber in 1982
- Named CWPA All-Conference First Team both years
- 2009 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Rookie of the Year
- 2009 Rookie of the Eastern Championship
- 2009 First Team All-Northern Division and First Team All-East
- Second on the team with 71 goals and 28 steals, while tying for the team lead in points (79) in 2009
- Named to the 2009 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team
- Was instrumental in the team's success in 2009 as the Rams won a share of the CWPA Northern Division regular season title and finished as runner-up at the CWPA Norther Division Championship
- Led 2010 team with 91 goals and 112 points
- The 91 goals ranks as one of the top scoring seasons in Fordham school history, trailing only Ned Kelly's mark of 112 in 1971
- Nationally, was second in the nation in goals and third in points
- Recipient of the 2011 Vincent T. Lombardi Award
- Named Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-America® in 2011 (only Fordham water polo student-athlete to earn Academic All-America® honors)

Ted Bonanno (Former Rowing Head Coach)
- Served as head rowing coach for 31 years.
- 1999 Dad Vail Coach of the Year.
- 2009 American College Rowing Association Regional Coach of the Year for the Northeast.
- Over that time as head coach at Fordham his crews medaled at the Dad Vail Regatta the first 23 years in a row and 27 years overall.
- Ten of his crews have also had undefeated seasons.
- Fordham crews won 19 national championships, including a Division I National Collegiate Championship, the I.R.A Regatta, 13 at the Dad Vail Regatta, and three at the ECAC National Collegiate Invitational Regatta.
- In what turned out to be his final regatta as head coach, Bonanno led the Rams to a third place finish at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship with three Fordham rowers earning All-Atlantic 10 honors.
- The previous spring, Fordham finished second in the team standings at the 2018 Dad Vail Championships with both the Varsity 8 and Junior Varsity 8 placing third in the Grand Final.
- Success at Dad Vails was nothing new to Bonanno. In 2012, Fordham advanced three crews to the Dad Vail Grand Finals. The women's freshman 4 which took home gold by open water, while the varsity lightweight 4 won bronze medals and the varsity open 4 just missed the medal podium, placing fourth

Abigail Corning, GABELLI '14 (Basketball)
- Four-year letter winner
- Two-time team captain as a senior
- Heart and soul of the 2013-2014 team that went 25-8 and won the Atlantic 10 title and received Fordham's first women's basketball NCAA bid since 1994
- Served as president of the Fordham SAAC
- 2014 Second Team All-Atlantic 10 and Third Team All-Met
- Named 2014 Atlantic 10 Championships Most Outstanding Player and to the 2014 Atlantic 10 All-Championship team
- 2014 Terence J. O'Donnell Award winner
- Earned First Team Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference honors as a senior
- Averaged 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game as a senior
- Captained the 2012-2013 Ram squad to a 26-9 record, the highest win total for the program in over 30 years
- Averaged 8.9 points and a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game as a junior
- Currently ranks 12th on the Fordham career scoring list (1,213), seventh on three-pointers made (171), ninth in assists (340), ninth in three-point shooting percentage (.353) and tenth in rebounds (702)

Jocelyn Dearborn Hinkley, GABELLI '11 (Softball)
- Four-year member of the team at third base
- Graduated as the Rams' career leader in hits (257), at bats (802), RBI (175), doubles (54), home runs (45), total bases (476), and games played (246)(still holds all records except for home runs where she is second)
- Also ranked among the career leaders in batting average (.320), runs scored (3rd – 157), triples (2nd – 15), stolen bases (8th – 27)
- Helped Fordham to two NCAA Regional appearances (2010 & 2011) and the team's first Atlantic 10 Championship in 2011
- Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team and NFCA Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region in 2008
- Set Fordham freshman record with nine home runs to lead the team, while registering team-highs of 51 RBI, 113 total bases, and a .546 slugging percentage
- Named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2009
- Led Rams with 16 doubles and 11 multi-RBI games to go with a .272 batting average, 36 runs scored, eight home runs and 40 RBI
- Named First Team All-Atlantic 10, NFCA First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region, Second Team All-ECAC in 2010
- Set single season record for total bases with 125 and stolen base percentage, going a perfect 14-for-14

Jay "Fuzzy" Fazande, FCRH '93 (Basketball)
- Four-year starter and varsity letter winner
- Co-Captain, 1993
- Fordham's all-time career assist leader (548)
- Fordham's single-season assist leader (198)
- Led team to NCAA Tournament in 1992
- Led team to the NIT Tournament in 1990 and 1991
- Member of the 1991 and 1992 Patriot League Champions
- Led Rams to 78 wins in his four seasons, the most wins in a four-year period in school history
- Point Guard and the key assist distributor for four years, including for Fordham Hall of Famers: Damon Lopez, Fred Herzog, Jean Prioleau, Sanford Jenkins.Â
- Was the unheralded QB of the impressive Fordham hoops teams in the early '90s as the whole team system through his game command and management

Joe McGovern, FCRH '64 (Men's Track)
- Member of record setting (smashing) Championship of America 4 Mile relay at Penn Relays. (1963)
- The team was inducted into the Penn Wall of Fame in 2013 (other three members of the relay are already in the Fordham Hall Of Fame (Tom Kenny, Matt Cucchiara, Norb Sander)
- Member of winning Championship of America 2 mile relay at Penn Relays the day after the 4 Mile Relay
- Member of 2 Mile Relay that, during the 1963 Indoor Season, won the NYAC Games at Madison Square Garden missing the world record by 0.8 seconds. (7:31.6)
- The 2 Mile Relay time was third-best in the world that year
- Held school record at VCP for five miles
- Record broken by Matt Cucchiara who is in the Hall of Fame
- Held school record at 2 miles Indoors and 3 miles Outdoors
- His 2 mile record was also broken by Matt Cucchiara
- Two-time winner of the Indoor MET 2 mile, the second time in meet record time
- Three-time winner and meet record holder of the MET 3 mile outdoors (Sophomore, Junior and Senior year - Freshman were not allowed to compete at the varsity level at the time)

Ryan Meara, GABELLI '13 (Soccer)
- A four-time NSCAA All-Region selection, earning First Team honors his last three seasons
- Named 2011 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year
- Earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors three straight years
- 2012 Vincent T. Lombardi Award winner
- Posted career-best numbers with an 11-6-1 record, a 0.65 goals against average, and an .862 save percentage as a senior in 2012
- Also added ten shutouts, second best single season in school history, as a senior
- His 0.65 goals against average as a senior is a Fordham single season record
- Played all but eight minutes as a junior in 2010
- Posted a 10-8-0 record as a junior, a 0.81 goals against average, and an .808 save percentage
- His 0.81 goals against average was third best single season all-time in school history
- His career goal against average of 0.87 is the best in school history
- Set school career record with 31 shutouts
- Drafted by the NY Red Bulls in 2012 currently on the team's roster

Joe Moglia, FCRH '71 (Special)
- Also a graduate of Fordham Prep, where he lettered in football and baseball, earning All-City and All-Conference honors
- Started his coaching career at Fordham Prep
- After college, coached college football for 16 years, winning two Ivy League Championships as defensive coordinator at Dartmouth College and setting national records as a defensive and special teams coach at Lafayette College
- Left coaching in 1984 for a career in finance, first at Merrill Lynch then as CEO of TD Ameritrade, which grew from $700MM to $10B in market capitalization during his leadership
- Returned to college coaching in 2009 at the University of Nebraska where he coached for two seasons
- Named head football coach at Coastal Carolina University in 2012, leading his team to repeat I-AA playoff success and a move to the FBS in the Sun Belt Conference
- In his first three seasons at Coastal, led his team to three conference championships, three National Playoffs, was named Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014, three times named a finalist for National Coach of the Year, both National Runner Up and American Football Coaches Foundation Regional Coach of the Year in 2014, and Eddie Robinson national coach of the year 2015
- Compiled a 56-22 record at Coastal Carolina – a winning percentage of .718 – making him the winningest football coach from Fordham

Caitlin Dam (Napoli), GABELLI '11 (Swimming)
- Led the women's swimming & diving team to their first ever Atlantic 10 championship in 2010
- Was Atlantic 10 champion in the 500 freestyle and the 800 freestyle relay as a senior in 2010
- Earned Second Team All-A-10 accolades in the 200 free and 200 fly and as a member of the 400 freestyle relay as a senior
- Two-time team captain and team MVP
- Won the 200 and 500 freestyle events as a junior at the Atlantic 10 Championships as well as being a member of the winning 800 Free relay
- 800 freestyle relay set an Atlantic 10 and Fordham record
- Earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the 200 butterfly and as part of the 400 freestyle relay as a junior
- Set three individual and three relays records as a junior
- Member of two record-setting relays as a sophomore
- Set 13 school records over her four year career
- Graduated with five school records
- Member of the current school record-holding 800 free relay
- Named Academic All-Atlantic 10 in 2008 and 2009
- Recipient of the Hobbs Family Award as the Outstanding Female Student-Athlete at Fordham in 2010

Mike Nebrich, FCRH '15 (Football)
- Three-year member of the men's football squad after transferring from UConn
- 2013 and 2014 All-American
- 2013 and 2014 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year
- 2013 and 2014 First Team All-Patriot League
- 2014 and 2015 Lombardi Award recipient
- Holds school single season records for most pass attempts (480), completions (353), completion percentage (.735), passing yards (4,380), and passing touchdowns (35)
- Passing yard, passing touchdowns, and completion percentage marks are also a Patriot League record
- Holds school and Patriot League records for passing yards in a game (566)
- Tied school mark with six touchdowns passes in a game
- Despite playing only two+ years, has the school career record for completion percentage (.682) and ranks second on the career completions list (639) and passing yards (8,084), and is third in career touchdown passes (66)
- Holds school and Patriot League marks for passer efficiency rating for season and career
- Set a school and Patriot League record by completing 20 straight passes at Georgetown in 2013
- Had a 20-3 record as a starting quarterback

Ralph Rios, GABELLI '88 (Football)
- Four-year starter with the football squad
- The Fordham career interceptions leader with 23
- Earned All-Liberty Conference honors all four years
- Started at cornerback as a freshman, making three interceptions, and earning Second Team All-Conference honors
- Picked off eight passes as a sophomore, fifth most in the NCAA Div. III, and earned First Team All-Conference honors
- Eight interceptions is tied for third best single season in school history
- Earned First Team All-Conference honors as a junior, intercepting five passes
- Led team to Liberty Conference championship as a senior in 1987, intercepting five passes, returning one 85 yards for a touchdown, the second longest interception return for a score in school history
- Earned Second Team Academic All-America® honors as a senior

Erin Rooney, FCRH '14 (Basketball)
- A two-year starter after transferring to Fordham from Monmouth
- Member of the 2013-2014 team that went 25-8, won the Atlantic 10 title, and received Fordham's first women's basketball NCAA bid since 1994
- Named 2014 First Team All-Atlantic 10 and First Team All-Met
- Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team
- Led Rams to their first ever Atlantic 10 title
- Led team and was third in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (17.5 ppg)
- Led team and was 12th in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (7.3 ppg)
- Led team and was fourth in the Atlantic 10 in assists (5.2/game)
- Scored more than 1,000 career points in just two seasons at Fordham
- Became the first player in Fordham Women's Basketball history to record 500 points, 200 rebounds and 150 assists in the same season (2013-2014)
- Her 577 points in 2013-2014 is the eighth-best single season total at Fordham
- Recorded the program's first triple double in two decades
- Finished third in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (17.5 ppg), 12th in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and fourth in assists (5.2 apg) as a senior in 2013-2014
- Also ranked first in defensive rebounding (6.0 per game), second in minutes played (36.9 mpg) and fourth in three-point percentage (38.2) as a senior
- Became first women's basketball player in Fordham history to receive First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors as a junior in 2012-2103
- Also named First Team All-Met, Fordham's first since 1997
- Finished career ranked 14th on the Fordham career scoring list (1,062) despite playing just two years (currently ranked 17th)

- Four-year member of the baseball team
- Holds school record for most games playedin a career (218)
- Holds school record for most hits in a career (242)
- Tied for second on the school's career stolen base list (91)
- Led the Atlantic 10 in stolen bases for two seasons (2014 and 2015)
- Three-time selection to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team
- Named First Team Capital One/CoSida Academic All-District in 2015
- 2014 Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection

In addition to the Hall of Famers, the following were presented with the Victory Bell Award. The Victory Bell Award honors individuals who have brought distinction and honor to Fordham University Athletics through achievements not related to competition, coaching and/or administration. The honoree, selected by the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, embodies a sense of leadership and passion for Fordham Athletics and serves as an inspiration to the Fordham Athletics Family.
