Bronx, N.Y. - Though some have been back on campus for almost a month for preseason practices, various Fordham University student-athletes spent part of their Sunday morning outside several of the dorms on campus, helping the incoming students and their families unload their vehicles. In what has become an annual event for the Rams, the student-athletes came to the aid of the New Student Orientation staff and the Office of Residential Life by lending a hand to make Opening Day run smoothly.
Members of the baseball, softball, women's soccer, football, men's basketball, men's and women's track/cross country, water polo, cheerleading, dance, and the club men's rugby squads assisted with Opening Day today. Even Ramses lent a helping hoof. The cheerleaders and dance team greeted the new students as they pulled onto campus and the other student-athletes hauled boxes and other heavy goods, including refrigerators, televisions and cases of water, up flights of stairs, gleaning admiration from parents and students who thought they would have to do the heavy lifting themselves.
