Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University interim athletic
Ed Kull was one of five athletic directors to sign the Collegiate Coaching Diversity Pledge last week. He was joined by Mario Moccia (New Mexico State), Kim Record (UNC Greensboro), Jim Sterk (Missouri), and Tanya Vogel (George Washington).
Â
"Fordham Athletics is committed to growing the diversity of our coaches, staff, and administrators," said Kull. "We know the advancement of underrepresented minority groups in our department is a crucial step in creating a more inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment. I am humbled and excited to join my fellow athletic directors in their commitment to ensuring equal opportunity in our industry."
Â
The Collegiate Coaching Diversity Pledge (CCDP) is an opt-in pledge by Division I athletics directors to include a diverse group of candidates in the finalist pool for head coach vacancies in men's basketball, women's basketball, and football.
Â
A "diverse pool" is defined as a group of finalists that includes at least one candidate from a diverse or traditionally underrepresented background and at least one candidate from a non-diverse background.Â
The CCDP reflects a commitment to ensure equal opportunity in the hiring of coaches, and to address the barriers that have prevented full participation of underrepresented minority groups.Â

More information on the CCDP can be found on the
CCDP website.
