LaMorte Makes Career-High Nine Saves in Draw at Syracuse

Rams and Orange Play to Scoreless Draw on Sunday

Syracuse, N.Y. – Led by senior keeper Kelly LaMorte, the Fordham women's soccer team played Syracuse to a scoreless draw on the road on Sunday afternoon. With the result, the Rams move to 1-5-2 on the season, while the Orange move to 2-3-1 overall.
 
LaMorte made a career-high nine saves on the day and recorded her 13th career shutout. She is just one and two behind Megan Fitzgerald ('16) and Rachel Suther ('12), respectively, for third and second all-time in program history.
 
Six players notched a shot each, with Crea Baker-Durante and Amanda Miller getting theirs on target off the bench. 
 
Two yellow cards were issued in the match – one for Claudia Cuicani in the first half and one for Syracuse's Marisa Fischetti in the second half.
 
Fordham remains on the road for one more nonconference match, at Stony Brook this Thursday night at 7 p.m. Atlantic 10 play begins next Sunday at 1 p.m. at Coffey Field against St. Bonaventure.
