Last Time Out
The Rams went 2-1 for the second straight weekend, sweeping Norfolk State and defeating Rider in four sets, but falling to Radford in four in controversial fashion. The Rams dominated the opener against the Spartans, never giving up more than 16 points in any set. They totaled 16 kills with no errors on 28 attempts in the opening frame (.571) and nearly equaled the three-set match record set by last year's group by .02, finishing at .471. Against Rider, Fordham hit over .300 in all but the third set where the Rams committed nine errors in attack. The trio of McKenna Lahr, Olivia Fairchild, and Kaitlin Morley combined for 43 kills in the match, while freshman Megan Brzozowski enjoyed her second double-double of the year with 26 assists and 12 digs, as did Makaela Tanaka, with 13 and 11, respectively. The squad racked up 20 block assists in the match, led by Aria De La Rosa's five and four each from Fairchild and Chloe Pejouan. The third match against the hosts ended in controversial fashion as the Rams seemingly had forced a fifth set by winning the fourth frame 27-25 but an attack went long but a video replay deemed the ball had touched a Fordham player and evened the set at 26-all, with Radford going on to win the next two points and the match. Morley led the way on offense with 13 kills and 10 digs, plus five blocks, while Brzozowski and Tanaka combined for 40 assists. Morgan Williams chipped in a match-high 23 digs, while De La Rosa again chipped in five blocks.

Series Histories
Hartford – The Hawks lead the all-time series, 4-2, since 1991, including an 1-3 record on neutral courts. Fordham has wins in 1996 and 2016, both in five sets. Then freshmen, Fairchild and Morley combined for 33 kills, including a season-high 21 for the former, while Williams tallied a match-high 18 digs.

Hofstra – The Pride hold a slim 7-6 record against the Rams since 1976. It's been a back-and-forth rivalry the whole way, with the two schools trading wins each of the last eight meetings since 1997. Most recently, Hofstra won in straight sets on their home court in 2014.

Dartmouth – Fordham leads the all-time series, 4-3, but this will be the first time the Rams play in New Hanover, N.H. Most recently, the Rams beat the Big Green in four sets a year ago in the Bronx. Morley notched 22 kills at a .370 clip with 14 digs, Sophia Plett enjoyed a double-double of 41 assists and 13 digs, and Williams chipped in a match-high 20 digs.

Williams Among Nation's Best in Digs
Senior captain and libero Morgan Williams has racked up 138 digs already this season through six matches, good for an average of 5.75 per set. The former stat ranks ninth in all of Division I, while the latter sits within the top-25. However, NCAA-wide stats have been an issue early this year with new software being used by schools. Fixes should come out within the next week or two. Williams also earned her second career piece of league hardware after a record-setting performance at the Georgia State Invitational by being named Defensive Player of the Week. A day after Williams nearly set the program record for three-set digs, the Los Angeles native totaled 66 over her two matches on Saturday, with a school record 33 coming in four sets against the hosts. Those were tied for the second-most in a single match in program history, as well. Williams also ascended to third all-time with 1,307 career digs, passing Maria Rodenberg ('13).

Class of 2023
The Rams welcome five new faces to the program with freshmen Megan Brzozowski, Mallory Lipski, Aria De La Rosa, Chloe Pejouan, and Aneliesa Cartledge.

Preseason Poll
The Rams, who finished ninth last year in the Atlantic 10, have been predicted to repeat that by the league's head coaches in the annual preseason poll. Read more here.

Up Next
The Rams wrap up nonconference play with three consecutive days with a road game at local schools. Fordham will play at Manhattan, Columbia, and LIU Brooklyn between September 18-20 with the first two matches starting at 7 p.m. and the third starting at 6 p.m.
