New Haven, Conn. – The Fordham women's soccer team fell, 2-0, at Yale on Thursday night to begin a three-match road swing. With the result, the Rams fall to 1-5-1 overall, while the Bulldogs improve to 3-2.
Yale struck twice in the first half, a back-and-forth 45 minutes that saw a slim 5-4 margin on shots for the hosts. The Bulldogs continued their pressure in the second half, forcing four saves out of
Kelly LaMorte to keep Yale from adding to its total. Fordham recorded four shots in each half and four shots on goal overall.
Sage Bingman and
Maura Holst each notched a pair of shots and one shot on goal to pace the squad.
Hope Baisley and
Crea Baker-Durante each added a shot on target, the latter coming off the bench. Freshman
Danielle Etienne received the lone caution of the match in the 35
th minute.
The Rams remain on the road to face Syracuse on Sunday at 1 p.m.
