Duo Continue to Add Awards Following Tremendous 2018-19 Campaigns

Danbury, Conn. – Fordham women's basketball standouts Bre Cavanaugh and Mary Goulding can add a couple more accolades for their stellar 2018-19 campaigns as the duo was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Honorable Mention on Wednesday afternoon. Student-athletes are only qualified for ECAC honors if they were named to their respective conference's First Team or were major award winners.

Cavanaugh and Goulding became the first Fordham teammates in the Atlantic 10 era to both be named to the league's First Team in early March and then the pair propelled the Rams to the program's second-ever A-10 championship after helping the team earn a share of its first-ever regular season title. Cavanaugh and Goulding were both named to the All-Championship team, with the latter earning Most Outstanding Player honors. Goulding was also named to the A-10 All-Academic team.

In Pittsburgh, as Fordham coasted to the championship with an average margin of victory of just under 23 points per game, the two Rams averaged over 20 points per contest. Goulding averaged 20.7 points, including matching her recently scored career-high of 24 points in the quarterfinals, adding a team-high 6.7 rebounds (10-of-20 on the offensive glass) and seven steals, plus six assists. The senior shot a blistering 57.5% overall from the floor and 56.3% from deep (9-of-16), while making all seven of her free-throw attempts.

During conference play, she led the Rams with 15.2 points per game on 33.9% shooting with 6.3 rebounds, 40 assists, and 11 steals. She was a four-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and was also recognized once each as Player of the Week by the NCAA, the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA), plus an Honorable Mention by ESPNW.

Goulding led the Rams in every statistical category besides scoring. The senior is averaged 12.8 points on 47.9% shooting overall and 39.8% from behind the arc, the latter mark tied for 10th all-time in a single season, with 8.4 rebounds, which ranked third in the conference, and a team-high 94 assists, 41 steals, and nine blocks.
