Amherst, Mass. – The Fordham University women's tennis squad closed out its 2019 spring dual match season by traveling to Amherst, Massachusetts, where the Rams fell to the University of Massachusetts, 5-2, in the Mullins Center Tennis Courts.
The Rams opened the match on a positive note, winning the doubles point, taking both completed doubles matches.

Genevieve Quenville got doubles started for Fordham with a 6-4 win over Ashley Avery and Ruth Crawford at third doubles and then
Tatiana Grigoryan and
Arina Taluyenko defeated Janja Kovacevic and Martina Bocchi, 6-4, at the first position to give the Rams the point.
Unfortunately for Fordham, Taluyenko was the lone singles winner, defeating Kovacevic in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, at first singles. With the win, Taluyenko closed out the dual match season undefeated in singles play against Atlantic 10 opponents.
Two Rams went to a third set before falling to their UMass counterpart. Grigoryan dropped the first set to Jodie Lawrence-Taylor at second singles, 6-0, but came back to take the second, 6-4, before falling in the third, 6-4.
Gianna Insogna won the first set at fifth singles over Bocchi, 6-3, but dropped the next two, 6-0 and 6-3.
The Rams will now travel to Orlando, Florida, to participate in the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championships to be held from April 24-17 at the USTA National Campus.
