Harrison, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis squad hosted Boston University on Saturday and after digging a 3-0 hole, rallied to defeat the Terriers, 4-3, at Life Time Athletic.
Fordham opened the match dropping the two completed doubles matches and then losses at first and sixth singles left Fordham trailing 3-0.
But
Alex Makatsaria got the Rams on the board with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win over Max Hartenstein at fifth singles and then
Lutwin de Macar made it a 3-2 match with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) victory over Max Stehling at the fourth position.
Max Green knotted things at 3-3 when he defeated David Bogatin at second singles, 6-3 and 7-6 (4) which meant the match came down to third singles where
Finn Kemper took the first set from Pete Siozios, 6-2, before dropping the second, 6-0. However, Kemper came back to take the third set, 6-4, to clinch the win for Fordham.
The Rams (7-3) return to action on Friday, March 22, as they travel to Dayton, Ohio, to face Duquesne University at 7:00 p.m.
