Full List of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams
Austin, Texas - (December 5, 2019) - The 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Among the honorees is Fordham senior forward
Johannes Pieles (Langenbach, Germany/J.C.F. GutsMuths Sportgymnasium Jena (Syracuse)), who was named Third Team Academic All-America®.

Pieles is the second Fordham men's soccer player to be named Academic All-America®, joining John Wolyniec, who was a two-time Academic All-American in 1997 and 1998. Overall, he is Fordham's 34
th Academic All-American, the first since Nele Albers (women's swimming) in 2018.
Pieles is also one of two Atlantic 10 men's soccer student-athletes to earn Academic All- America® honors, joining Saint Joseph's David Grana, who also received Third Team honors.
Pieles, who holds a 3.94 GPA in Finance, earned Academic All-American honors after being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District and Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference teams. He appeared in 19 of 20 games this season for the Rams, making 18 starts and helping Fordham reach the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals. He recorded two goals for four points on the year and notched one game-winning goal. That game-winning tally came in a victory over George Mason on October 26th. He also ranked second on the team in shots (47) and tied for third in goals.
Of the 34 members on the Academic All-America® Division I men's soccer teams, 11 boast a perfect 4.0 GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.96, with the entire men's team holding a collective average GPA of 3.92
