Day One Results
Simsbury, Conn. – (September 8, 2018) – The Fordham golf team opened its 2018-19 schedule on Saturday, as the Rams are at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial, hosted at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Connecticut.
After day one, Fordham is currently 12
th out of 13 teams with a team score of 315. Sacred Heart leads the tournament at 290, followed by Fairfield (298), Bryant (299), and Yale (299).
Individually, Yale's Matt Smith was the leader after day one, shooting a two-under-par round of 70, while Bryant's Connor Henderson and Sacred Heart's Saptak Talwar are tied for second at one-under-par with rounds of 71. Right behind them is a trio of golfers that shot even rounds of 72, which includes Fordham's
Josh Madarang.
Besides Madarang's 72,
Mithran Denbow is also in the top ten, as he is tied for seventh with an opening round 73 (+1).
Anthony Wells shot a 78 (+6) on day one, which is tied for 44
th, with
Thomas Hayes (T67th – 82), Aidan Denning (T70th – 83), and Eduardo Tamburi (T70 – 83) also competing for the Rams.
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
