Rams Duo Garners Second Team All-Northeast Honors

Greensboro, N.C. – (June 13, 2018) - The 2018 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-Region teams have been announced in all eight regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee.
 
A total of 13 players from the Atlantic 10 conference were named to the All-Region teams, including Fordham's Ben Greenberg (Scarborough, Maine) and Jake MacKenzie (Wallingford, Conn.), who were both named Second Team All-Northeast Region.
 
They are Fordham's first All-Northeast Region selections since Tim Swatek in 2014, and first time since 2008 that multiple Rams were chosen.

After missing his junior season due to injury, Greenberg had an outstanding senior campaign, setting career-best marks across the board.  In 15 starts, he posted a 6-2 record with a 2.40 ERA and one complete game.  He threw 82.1 innings, allowing a .223 opponent batting average with 65 strikeouts.  The Rams were solid with Greenberg on the mound, going 12-3 in his starts. 
 
For his career, Greenberg is 14-6 with a 2.73 ERA over 46 appearances.  He has thrown 210.2 innings with 128 strikeouts.  His 33 career starts are tied for tenth all-time at Fordham, while his 2.73 ERA in ninth all-time.
 
For MacKenzie, the All-Region honor adds to an already impressive list of accolades for the Rams' freshman.  He has already earned Freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball, Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors, First Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-ECAC, and Atlantic 10 All-Rookie accolades.

Jake MacKenzie earned his sixth postseason
honor on Wednesday.
A two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, he registered a team-best 17 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI contests.  He also finished the regular season as the Rams' team leader in runs scored (46), hits (58), triples (6), home runs (8), RBI (42), slugging percentage (.523), and stolen bases (34), while being second in batting average (.291).  He was the Atlantic 10 leader in stolen bases and still ranks fifth in the NCAA.  In league action, he batted .287 with 22 runs scored, five home runs, 18 RBI, and 16 stolen bases.
