St. Bonaventure, N.Y. – (October 7, 2018) – For the second straight Sunday, Fordham's
Lane Cronin scored the game-winning goal, while
Kelly LaMorte and the Fordham defense posted a shutout, as the Rams downed the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 1-0, at the Marra Athletic Complex in St. Bonaventure, N.Y.
With the win, Fordham extends its unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1), while improving to 8-5-1 overall, 5-0-1 in the Atlantic 10. St. Bonaventure fell to 0-11-4 on the year, 0-6 in the league.
The lone goal of the contest came just before halftime in the 43
rd minute.
Morgan Busacca took a corner kick, getting the ball in the box, which
Milan Bornstein chipped back toward goal.
Lane Cronin then knocked the ball in, right on the doorstep for her third goal of the year.
The Rams were extremely stingy, giving up only two shots on the game with just one on goal. The one shot was stopped by LaMorte for her only save of the contest. It was her seventh shutout of year, more than double what she posted a season ago.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Thursday, October 11
th, when the Rams travel to Saint Louis for a big conference match, starting at 8:00 PM ET.
