Newark, N.J. – Members of the Fordham cross country teams were in action Saturday at the Highlander XC Challenge, hosted by NJIT, where the men and women each took third among Division 1 teams.
Leading the way for the Ram women was
Kelsey Coppinger, who finished seventh in the 5K in 18:45. Crossing the finish line next was
Maeve O'Connor who took 12
th in 19:10, followed by
Bridget White (21
st – 19:47),
Elizabeth Morisseau (22
nd – 19:50),
Jessica Walker-Corbett (35
th – 21:35) and
Maiya Larsen (50
th – 24:05).
Seton Hall was the top finisher in the Division 1 race with a score of 22, followed by Wagner (67), Fordham (87), NJIT (95), Fairleigh Dickinson (126), St. Francis NY (147) and St. Peter's (179).
On the men's side,
Matthew Roma was Fordham's top finisher, placing ninth in the 8K in 26:14. Roma was followed by

Wagner won the men's championship with a total score of 31, followed by NJIT (59), Fordham (84), Seton Hall (93), St. Francis NY (95), Fairleigh Dickinson (186) and St. Peter's (217).
The Rams return to action Friday October 12 at the Metropolitan Championship, held at Van Cortlandt Park. Races begin at 11 a.m.
