Bronx, N.Y. – On Thursday night, October 18, Fordham head golf coach Paul Dillon received the first of two Hall of Fame honors he will receive in 2018-2019 by being inducted into the Westchester County Sports Hall of Fame. The second will come in April when he will be inducted into the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame.

In front of his family and friends at the Westchester County Center, Dillon joined Joe Amuso, the late Kevin Bass and Sharon Sarsen in being honored by the county's Sports Hall of Fame.

Dillon is in his 23rd year as the head golf coach at Fordham. The Rams have enjoyed great success as of late under his tutelage. The 2017-18 campaign was a good one as the Rams boasted top-10 finishes in nine of 11 events and saw James Mongey take home the individual title at the Ryan Lee Memorial Invitational, where Fordham also won the team event for its best finish of the season. Two school records were also set as Mongey set the record for two-round total with a score of 137 at the Bucknell Invitational and Joseph Trim set the record for a three-round score with a total of 211 at the Hartford Invitational.

The 2016-17 campaign was highlighted by four top-10 team finishes and an individual win by Trim. The team finished fifth at the season opening Ryan T. Lee Memorial Invitational and also finished fifth at the Lehigh Invitational, where Trim won the individual title, and the Coca Cola Lehigh Valley Invitational. The team's highest finish of the season came at the Rhode Island Invitational where they took third.

The 2011-12 campaign was highlighted by three team wins and an individual second place showing by Devon O'Rourke. The team titles came in the FDU Invitational in the fall season and the La Salle and Rhode Island competitions in the spring season. O'Rourke's second place showing also came in the La Salle Invitational.

In 2004, Dillon guided the team to a fourth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship, the best in team history. For that accomplishment, Dillon received the 2004 Atlantic 10 Golf Coach of the Year award. Just a few days later, he was named co-recipient of the Iron Major Award, as Fordham Coach of the Year.

A graduate of Iona College, Dillon worked for 30 years as a packaging systems manager for Union Camp Corp., and has been an artist and portrait painter for the last 20 years.

Dillon is very active in the golf community of Westchester County, currently serving as the President of the Metropolitan Golf Association and he has also served as the President of the Westchester Golf Association and the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund. He has also been on the Executive Committee of the Metropolitan Golf Association and served as the President of the Halfway Houses of Westchester Foundation.

Dillon is a member of both the Winged Foot Golf Club and the Wykagyl Country Club. A resident of Mamaroneck, N.Y., Dillon and his wife Mary Ellen have six children.
