Pittsburgh, Pa. – (October 21, 2018) – Duquesne's Lexi Kendro scored the only goal of the game, as the Dukes edged the Fordham Rams, 1-0, in the regular season finale for both teams at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Fordham ends the regular season at 9-8-1 overall, 6-3-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Duquesne concludes their year at 6-9-2, 2-6-2 in the league.
The only goal of the contest came in the 87
th minute, as the ball was played in from the right side to Katie O'Connor, whose shot hit the crossbar. Lexi Kendro got to the rebound and knocked the ball into the goal for her first of the season.
With little time remaining, Fordham's
Emma Johnson had the Rams' only shot to tie the game, but it was stopped by Kyra Murphy.
The late goal spoiled a fine effort by Fordham goalkeeper
Kelly LaMorte, as he finished with five saves, which included multiple diving stops to keep the game scoreless.
