Women’s Tennis Competes at ITA Northeast Regionals

Taluyenko, Grigoryan Advance to Doubles Round of 32

Results

New Haven, Conn. - The Fordham women's tennis team competed at the ITA Northeast Championships, hosted by Yale, where Arina Taluyenko and Tatiana Grigoryan advanced to the round of 32 in the doubles draw.

Taluyenko and Grigoryan opened doubles play with an 8-6 win over Army West Point's Danna Funaro and Stephanie Dolehide before falling to second-seeded Jackie Urbinati and Kylie Wilcox of Boston College in the round of 32.

In qualifying singles, Gianna Insogna defeated Buffalo's Pia Schwarz 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the round of 32 before falling to eventual qualifier Maya Jacobs of Rutgers 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 16.

Jacobs went on to defeat Taluyenko 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 128 in the main singles draw.

The Rams return to action October 19-22 at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass.
