Bronx, N.Y. - Former Fordham track and field standouts Christine Miglino, FCRH '03, Warren Meahan, FCRH '04, and Jackie Prevete, FCRH '09, will be running in the 2017 New York City Marathon on November 5. And they will be running with a purpose. That purpose will be to raise funds for the Katie McBride Foundation which honors the memory of Katie McBride and the families of all childhood leukemia victims and other life-threatening diseases.

Besides the trios' connection with Fordham, the men's basketball program also has a special connection with the Katie McBride Foundation as Katie's brother, Mike, GABELLI '13, served as a basketball manager.

Katie McBride succumbed to Burkitt's Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, in 2008.  Katie's Run, a project of the Katie McBride Foundation, honors the memory of Katie and the families of all childhood leukemia victims and other life-threatening diseases. This event's primary objective is to honor Katie while raising important funds and awareness of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island and the family support services it provides. Since 2012, the Katie McBride Foundation has raised $220,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.
