Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham women's basketball program announced its 2017-18 non-conference schedule today, featuring eight home contests out of 13 total games. The slate is highlighted by match-ups with UCLA, which finished last season ranked 15
th in the country, and Penn State, which ended Fordham's season in the second round of the WNIT in mid-March. The 11
th annual Fordham Holiday Classic will see the Rams host Hartford, UC Davis, and Yale in late December, as well.

"Our foreign tour will help us bring along our nine freshmen and the extra experience will be necessary for the whole team as we embark on our most challenging out-of-conference schedule to date," Head coach
Stephanie Gaitley said, "We are at a point in our program where we want to schedule aggressively to get ready for conference play and postseason opportunities. We're on the road at St. John's, Albany, Penn State, and Boston College, and we have both Pittsburgh and UCLA coming to Rose Hill."

Fordham will finish its preparations for the upcoming season with an exhibition contest against Post University on Sunday, November 5, at 2 p.m. and kick the campaign off with a home match-up with visiting UMBC on Friday afternoon, November 10, at 5 p.m. inside the Rose Hill Gym.

Two road contests over four days follow with trips to Boston College, on November 16 at 7 p.m., and Albany, on November 19 with a time still to be determined, before returning to the Bronx for a lone Thanksgiving weekend match-up with Northern Colorado on Friday, November 24, at 7 p.m. That night against the Bears begins a six-game alternating stretch between home and away contests before the Rams wrap up out-of-conference action with four home games.

Fordham travels to Manhattan for the annual Battle of the Bronx contest on Wednesday, November 29, at 7 p.m., before hosting Pittsburgh on Rose Hill on Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m. Three days later, the Rams will return to State College, Pa. for a WNIT second round rematch with the Nittany Lions of Penn State, slated for a 7 p.m. tip-off on December 6.

The Rams will look to avenge last season's road loss against Iona on December 9 when the Gaels visit the Bronx, before turning around to visit nearby St. John's on December 12 at 7 p.m. The Rams will then host Bucknell on December 17 at 2 p.m. and Pac-12 power UCLA on December 20 at 7 p.m. The Bruins finished last season #15 in the nation. Fordham and Hartford will kick off the Holiday Classic on December 28 at 1 p.m. with UC Davis and Yale battling in the other game. The consolation game will take place the following at 1 p.m. before the championship contest tips off 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.

Of Fordham's 12 set opponents and two potential match-ups, nine finished with winning records and two won their conference championships: Albany (American East) and Bucknell (Patriot League). UCLA, along with those two schools, competed in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet 16. UC Davis won the Big West regular season title but fell in their conference semifinals.
