Men’s Basketball Hosts Dayton on Tuesday

Joins the Rams for the Maroon Out game!

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams continue their 2016-2017 Atlantic 10 season, the 114th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the University of Dayton Flyers in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Tuesday, January 31, at 9:00 p.m.
 
The game will be televised and streamed live on the CBS Sports Network with Fordham alum Spero Dedes (p-b-p) and Dalen Cuff (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuvsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
 
The contest will be a Maroon Out game with special maroon T-shirts being distributed to those in attendance.
 
Fordham enters the game with a 9-12 overall record, 3-5 in the Atlantic 10, after an 84-66 conference loss to Davidson in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon, while Dayton is 15-5 on the season, 6-2 in the A-10, after falling at VCU, 73-68, on Friday night.
 
Tuesday night's contest will be the 34th meeting between Fordham and Dayton on the hardwood with the Flyers leading the all-time series, which started in 1952-53, 28-5, and have won the past 12 match-ups. Dayton took last year's meetings, 64-50, on January 24 in the Rose Hill Gym as Charles Cooke netted 26 points and Scoochie Smith added 14.
 
Notes
 
• Sophomore guard Joseph Chartouny leads the NCAA in steals/game, averaging 3.55 and is third in the league and 47th in the country in assists/game (5.3). He tied his career-high with seven steals against Rutgers.
 
• Graduate transfer Javontae Hawkins netted his 1,000th collegiate point in the VCU game, leading the Rams with 22 points in the contest. Hawkins has 1,033 career points as a collegiate (224 at South Florida, 511 at Eastern Kentucky and 298 at Fordham).
 
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 and are third in the NCAA in steals per game (10.5) and are fourth in total steals (220).
 
• Fordham has recorded double digit steal totals in 15 of the 21 games this year.
 
• The Rams are also second in the NCAA in turnover margin (5.7) and turnovers forced (18.86/game).
