Storrs, Conn. – UConn's Stephanie Ribeiro netted a goal and three assists, while Rachel Hill had a goal and an assist, as the 23
rd-ranked Huskies topped the Fordham Rams, 4-1, at Morrone Stadium on Thursday night.
The loss caps Fordham's non-conference record at 5-3-1, while UConn improved to 8-2-0 on the year.
The Huskies opened the scoring in the 13
th minute, as Kristen Vinciguerra backheeled a cross into the goal for her first career goal with Stephanie Ribeiro and Rachel Hill credited with the assists.
The score remained 1-0 until the second half, when Ribiero struck in the 49
th minute. Ribeiro headed in a cross from the right side by Tanya Altrui for her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Fordham then got on the scoreboard, cutting into the Huskies' lead in the 70
th minute.
Margaret Roughley started the play at the midfield stripe, outletting a pass to the right sideline for
Keri Villano. Villano's first touch sent a lead pass ahead to
Nicol Natale for a breakaway. Natale cut around the UConn goalkeeper to the left and scored from eight yards out, making it a 2-1 game. It was Natale's second goal of the season.
However, that was as close as the Rams would get, as UConn scored twice in the final ten minutes of the game to wrap up the 4-1 win.
The Huskies finished with an 18-7 shot edge over the Rams in the game, as Fordham goalkeeper
Adaeze Obinelo finished with three saves on the night, compared to one for UConn's Emily Armstrong.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Thursday, September 29
th, as the Rams open Atlantic 10 play at Rhode Island, beginning at 7:00 PM.
