Saint Louis' Brianna Lore provided her own game winner with a RBI single in the first inning that scored Mackenzie Peter. The Bilikens started the contest by loading the bases on a walk and two singles before Lore's hit. On the play, Peter scored easily from third but
Sydney Canessa acted fast and gunned down Emma Buckles attempting to score at home. A second run crossed on the next play when Allie Macfarlane grounded out to short, allowing Elizabeth Everingham to score.

Lindsay Mayer single through the left side in the fourth and the final two coming in the sixth inning with two outs. Saint Louis scored two more in the fifth on an error by Canessa in deep center field and a Macfarlane RBI single with two outs. Both runs were unearned. Mayer replaced
Lauren Quense in the sixth inning and settled down over her final two frames after giving up a single and a two-run home run to her first two batters.
