Follow on Twitter Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams open play at the 2016 CollegeInsider.com Tournament by hosting the Boston University Terriers in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday, March 16, at 7:00 PM.

Fordham enters the game with a 17-13 overall record and is coming off a 70-55 loss to Richmond in the second round of the A-10 Championships at the Barclays Center on Thursday afternoon. Boston University enters with an 18-14 overall record after a 69-64 loss to American in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Patriot League Championships on March 3.
Wednesday night's contest will be the fifth meeting between Fordham and Boston University on the hardwood. The Terriers have won all four previous meetings, including a 66-51 win in Boston in the last meeting between the two schools on November 24, 2004. The Rams are 176-125 all-time against schools currently in the Patriot League, including a win earlier this year over Colgate.
Fordham's appearance in the 2016 CollegeInsider.com (CIT) Tournament will be the Rams first postseason appearance since they played in the 1992 NCAA Championship, falling to Massachusetts in the first round. The last home postseason game for the Rams occurred the previous year when they host the Minutemen in a second round NIT game in the Rose Hill Gym.

Ryan Rhoomes has recorded 12 double-doubles this year, the most recent an 18-point, 14-rebound game vs. Richmond in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championships on March 10, his third straight and seventh double-double over the past eight games. Rhoomes now has 19 career double-doubles and has scored in double figures in 27 of the 30 games this year.
• The 17 wins in 2015-2016 are the most for a Fordham team since the 2006-2007 squad won 18 times.

Ryan Rhoomes is ranked sixth in the NCAA in field goal percentage, hitting 65.0 percent of his shots (182-280). The school record for single season field goal percentage is .616 by Damon Lopes in 1990-1991.

Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,373 career points, 13th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. He is 62 points behind Fred Herzog (1987-1992) for 12th on the list.

Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 921, good for sixth place on the Fordham career rebounding list. He is 47 behind Bill McCadney (1955-1958) for fifth on the all-time list.

Jeff Neubauer's teams at Eastern Kentucky were well known for their defensive prowess, routinely ranking at the top of the NCAA in steals and his first Fordham team is no different recording 252 steals in 2015-2016 (8.4/game), second in the Atlantic 10 and eleventh in the NCAA.
