Follow on Twitter Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2016 Atlantic 10 season, the 113th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by traveling to Kingston, R.I., to face the University of Rhode Island Rams in the Ryan Center on Wednesday, January 27, at 7:00 PM.
The game will be televised live on the American Sports Network with Ed Cohen (p-b-p) and John Griffin (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p) and Matt Murphy (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
Fordham enters the game with an 11-7 overall record, 2-5 in the Atlantic 10, after a 64-50 league loss to Dayton in the Rose Hill Gym on Sunday afternoon. Rhode Island enters the game with an 11-8 overall record, 3-3 in the conference, after a 62-58 A-10 loss at George Washington on Friday afternoon.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 63
rd meeting between Fordham and Rhode Island on the hardwood. Rhode Island leads the all-time series, which started in the 1941-42 season, 37-25. Rhode Island took both of last year's meetings, a 68-65 win on January 7 in Kingston as E.C. Matthews scored 24 points for Rhode Island while
Eric Paschall had 19 for Fordham, and a 64-63 win in the Rose Hill Gym on January 28 on a Gilvydas Biruta put back at the buzzer.
Notes• The eleven wins in 2015-2016 are the most for a Fordham team since the 2007-2008 squad won 12 times.
• Senior guard
Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,324 career points, 14th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. Thomas is 48 points behind Charlie Yelverton (1968-1971) for 13th on the list.
• With his six rebounds in the Dayton game, forward
Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 781, placing him ninth on the Fordham career rebounding list. Rhoomes is 20 behind Damon Lopez (1988-1991) for eighth on the all-time list.

Jeff Neubauer's teams at Eastern Kentucky were well known for their defensive prowess, routinely ranking at the top of the NCAA in steals and his first Fordham team is no different, recording 162 steals in 2015-2016 (9.0/game), second in the Atlantic 10 and ninth in the NCAA.
• Fordham's scoring average of 72.9 ppg is the highest since the 2000-2001 team averaged 74.1 ppg.
• Fordham's defensive scoring average of 66.8 ppg, fourth best in the Atlantic 10, is the lowest since the 2006-2007 team allowed 64.2 ppg.
