The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer awards today, and Fordham men's soccer freshman
Rashid Nuhu (Accra, Ghana) was named the conference's Rookie of the Week. It is Nuhu's first career weekly award, and marks the second straight week that a Rams' player has receieved the award (
Janos Loebe).
Nuhu recorded the first two shutouts of his career this week as the Rams went 1-0-1. The goalkeeper made one save to go with a number of catches on set pieces in the Rams' 1-0 upset win over #21 Columbia on Wednesday. He then made three stops in a scoreless draw against NJIT on Saturday.
Nuhu lowered his GAA from 1.90 to 1.34 for the season after the two shutouts, improving his record to 2-3-2 on the season.
Nuhu and the rest of the Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Tuesday, September 29th, when the Rams travel to Lehigh for a 7:00 PM match-up.
