Men’s Basketball Hosts FDU on Saturday

Rams take on Knights on Atlantic 10 Digital Network

Bronx, N.Y. (November 20, 2015) - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2015-2016 season, the 113th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, November 21, at 2:00 p.m.
     
The game will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Mike Watts (p-b-p) and DJ Sixsmith (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Matt Moro (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
 
The Rams enter the game with a 1-1 record after a 76-57 win over Queens College in the Rose Hill Gym on Tuesday night. FDU enters the game with a 1-2 record after a 96-85 loss to Army in Teaneck on Wednesday night.
 
On the court, Fordham is led by senior guard Mandell Thomas, who is averaging 17.0 ppg, shooting .500 (7-14) from behind the arc, and junior guard Jon Severe, who is averaging 15.0 ppg, shooting .524 (11-21) from the field.
 
Notes
• After shooting .415 from the field last year (711-1713), the 2015-2016 are off to a hot start, shooting .491 (56-114) from the field, fourth best in the A-10.
 
• The Rams have also improved on their three-point shooting, hitting 41.3% (19-46), third best in the conference, of their long range shots compared to 30.5% (187-613) last year.
 
• The 2015-2016 Fordham Rams have blocked 14 shots over their first two games, tied them for the Atlantic 10 lead in blocks/game (7.0). Leading the way is senior forward Ryan Rhoomes who has a team high five, tied for third in the conference (2.5/game).
 
• Last season, Mandell Thomas became the 36th Rams to score 1,000 career points when he scored a career-high 29 points at Massachusetts. Thomas currently has 1,098 career points, good for 26th on the Fordham all-time scoring list.
 
• With his eight rebounds in the Queens game, forward Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 650, placing him 14th on the Fordham career rebounding list.
