Box Score A very tight squash match between Fordham and NYU took center stage at the Lombardi Squash Courts on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Rams, NYU came out on top by a 5-4 final score.
The loss puts Fordham's record at 1-4 on the year.
Fordham earned victories at the #2, #3, #4, and #7 slots, led by
Peter Yuen, who defeated Gabe Bassil in five games, 4-11, 13-11, 7-11, 11-5, and 15-13, at the second spot.
Keller won in straight games at #3 over Aditya Kochar (11-5, 11-4, 11-5), while it took four games for Will Pantel to dispatch Ashad Hajeya at the #4 slot, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, and 11-9.
Fordham's
Jimmy Shinnick also won in four games, topping Arvind Ramgupal, 11-4, 11-2, 10-12, and 11-8.
With a 4-2 team score, the Rams had three chances to win the match, but all three Rams,
Kincade Webster,
Sahil Bahri, and
Matthew Crowe, fell in their respective matches in four games
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on December 5
th at the Swarthmore Round Robin in Swarthmore, Pa. The Rams will meet Boston University at 12:45 PM, followed by Minnesota at 4:30 PM.
