Fordham Baseball To Take Part in Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Rams Raising Funds for the Versus Cancer Foundation in Conjunction with Game versus Iona on April 14th

Fordham Team Donation Page

The Fordham baseball team hosts the Iona Gaels on Tuesday, April 14th, but the game will have a little more significance than normal.

The Rams will be taking part in the Fight against Childhood Cancer, through the Vs. Cancer Foundation.  The Vs. Cancer Foundation is non-profit organization dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts.

Following the game, volunteers from both the Fordham and Iona coaches and players will be shaving their heads in support of this great cause.  Barbers will be supplied by Maximum Barber Shop, located on Fordham Road  Donations are being accepted for individual players as well as for the Fordham baseball team at - http://team.vs-cancer.org/fordham.

Half the proceeds gathered will go directly to a local care center, Montefiore Hospital and their Children's Cancer Research Center.

This is the second time in three seasons that the Fordham baseball team had participated in an event like this.  In 2013, the Fordham and Columbia baseball teams shaved their heads for the St. Baldrick's Foundation for childhood cancer.

Live video of the game can be seen on the Atlantic 10 Digitial Network or be heard on WFUVsports.org.  Live Stats are also available along with updates on the Fordham Baseball twitter account (@FordhamBaseball).
