Meet Men’s Basketball Freshman Nemanja Zarkovic

Get to know the newest members of the men’s basketball program

Bronx, N.Y. (August 22, 2014) – The 2014-2015 men's basketball squad features five newcomers and before they left for the foreign trip to Canada, Fordhamsports.com met up with each of the rookies and asked them five questions in order to get to know them better.

We start the series with a Montreal native, guard Nemanja Zarkovic, 6'3", 185-pound point guard, who attended Collège Jean-De-Brébeuf in Montreal, a school founded by the Jesuits in 1928, where he played for head coach Mike Chmielewski. Zarkovic, rated sixth among Canadian high school players by Hoopstars Canada, led the team to the provincial championship last April, scoring 34 points in the championship game win over Champlain Lennoxville.

Zarkovic speaks three languages (Serbian, French and English) and has experience playing against NCAA opponents. As a member of the Brockwood Bounce Elite, one of the teams the Rams will play in Montreal on the trip, he faced four division one teams during summer tours in 2013, averaging 20.5 ppg against the four, including 26 points versus Sacred Heart and 22 in a game with Siena.
