BRONX, N.Y.-Â Just a few months before beginning their collegiate careers at Rose Hill, two future Rams will compete for their respective home countries at the FIBA U-20 European Championship.

A member of several Latvian national teams in the past, Fomina put forth a spectacular effort at this tournament a year ago, averaging 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Her 4.6 helpers per outing were good enough to lead the tournament in that category.
Â
Standing at 6-1 with the ability to play both the guard and forward positions, Zappeij shone for Holland at the 2013 U-18 European Championship, captaining the Dutch squad to a fourth place finish and averaging 5.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
