to make it an 8-1 game.  Lightning and heavy rain caused a two-hour and 48 minute delay before the game was able to resume.

Following the resumption, Fordham got some life back in the bats with a three-run seventh inning to pull within four, 8-4.  The Rams loaded the bases for the third time in the game on an error and singles by Swatek and Charles GalianoMark Donadio then ripped a two-run single up the middle to plate Runco and Swatek.  Rob McCunney followed with a double to the left center gap.  Galiano scored on the play, but Donadio was thrown out at home as he tried to score from first base.

The Hawks got one of those runs back in the bottom of the frame, as with runners at the corners, O'Keefe hit a deep fly ball to left that Donadio caught against the wall, allowing Brue to score from third, as he led off the inning with a triple.

The 9-4 score would hold up as Saint Joseph's relievers Lansing Veeder and Matt Morella kept Fordham off the scoreboard in the eighth and ninth innings.

For Fordham, Haynes (3-5) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits over 2.1 innings, while Porter tossed 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits.  Shane McDonald threw 1.2 innings, allowing one run, while Greg Weissert pitched the final 1.2 innings without allowing a hit.

At the plate, Cianci was 3-for-5 with a run scored, while Swatek and Joseph DeVito were both 2-for-4.

Due to time constraints on Wednesday, the Rams will next be in action on Thursday, May 22nd, as Fordham will play at 11 AM at Roy Lee Field at Simmons Baseball Complex on the campus of SIU-Edwardsville against the loser of the George Mason-Dayton game.  The game will not have a live video feed, but will have live stats.
