Box Score After a hot-hitting weekend at St. Bonaventure, Fordham sophomore
kept hopes alive with a base hit through the left side, moving McCunney to third.
Joseph DeVito then drew a four pitch walk to load the bases, bringing Donadio to the plate.
Donadio thought he plated a run on a hit by pitch off his hand, but was called back, as the umpire called it a foul ball. The freshman outfielder though would not give up, forcing an eight-pitch at bat and drawing a walk to force in McCunney from third. Runco then stepped to the plate and lined a two-run single down the right field line to score Stampfl and DeVito and give Fordham the come from behind win.
For Fordham, Runco was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and two stolen bases, while Swatek was 2-for-3 with a stolen base. On the mound,
Shane McDonald (2-1) earned the win in relief, as he allowed just one run on two hits in four innings with four strikeouts.
Cody Johnson went the first five innings, as he gave up three runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
The Fordham baseball team will be right back in action on Wednesday, April 23
rd, when the Rams travel across town to face the Columbia Lions in a single game, beginning at 3:30 PM. This is a change from the original schedule.
