Box Score

Manhattan's Christian Santisteban went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while Sean Abbate tossed six innings of four-hit ball, as the Jaspers snapped the Fordham Rams' three-game win streak, 6-2, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

With the loss, Fordham moves to 11-14 on the season, while Manhattan improved to 4-19.

Fordham started the scoring in the second inning, as the Rams continued their power trip this week.  Charles Galiano took the second pitch he saw over the left field wall for his third home run of the year, and second in as many days.

The Jaspers struck back with four runs in the third to take a 4-1 lead.  Joe McClennan, Christian Santisteban, and Chris Kalousdian each registered RBI-singles to left, while Vin Teixiera drew a bases loaded walk from Fordham starter Shane McDonald.

Manhattan added another run in the fourth, as Jose Carrera led off with a triple to the right field corner, which ended McDonald's afternoon on the hill.  Jason Patnick then drove him in with a bunt single.

The Jaspers finished their scoring in the eight with another RBI-single from Santisteban, taking a 6-1 lead into the ninth.

Fordham managed to get a run back in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Mark Donadio, scoring Galiano from third base.

McDonald (1-1) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits in three-plus innings of work.  Jonathan Reich and Makay Redd each threw two innings of one-hit relief with Redd registering four strikeouts.  Luke Stampfl pitched the final inning of relief, giving up one run on one hit.

At the plate, Galiano was 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored, while Jason Lundy had a pair of hits.

The Fordham baseball team will next be in action on Friday, April 4th, when the Rams begin a three-game series at Rhode Island, beginning at 3:30 PM.
