David Judisky drew a walk with McCunney taking third on a wild pitch. Lundy was then hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. After a walk to Kozuch plated a run, Stampfl singled home Judisky for a 6-1 edge. Donadio followed with a sacrifice fly to right to score Lundy, while Runco had an RBI-ground out to add two more runs to the Rams' lead. Fordham closed out the scoring with an RBI-double by Swatek and an RBI-single from
Charles Galiano to lead 10-1.
Fordham continued to pour on the offense in the sixth. Judisky led off with a single to left, and moved to second on a ground out. Kozuch then tripled to the left center gap to score Judisky. Donadio followed with an RBI-single, plating Kozuch for a 12-1 edge.
The Rams added another pair of runs on the seventh to go ahead 14-1. Swatek and Galiano connected on back-to-back triples for one of the runs, while Judisky knocked in the second run on a fielder's choice.
The Bonnies got back on the scoreboard with a three-run seventh and a three-run eighth inning, highlighted by a two-run triple by Johnson in both innings to make it a 14-7 ballgame.
Fordham got a run back in the ninth, as Lundy singled to center, moved to second on a Joe DeVito hit by pitch, and scored on Stampfl's third RBI-single of the game.
The Bonnies did tally a run in the ninth, but would come up short, 15-8.
For Fordham,
Brett Kennedy improved to 3-6 on the season, as he allowed just one run on seven hits in six innings of work with five strikeouts.
Jonathan Reich recorded two strikeouts in his lone inning of work, while
Shane McDonald gave up one earned run in two innings of work.
At the plate, Swatek was 3-for-3 with a double, two triples and two RBI, marking the first time a Fordham player had two triples in the same game since Galiano did so against NYIT last season. Runco was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, and three RBI, while Stampfl was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. Donadio and Galiano each had a pair of hits and two RBI with Lundy and Kozuch each scoring three times in the game.
The two teams will meet for the series finale on Sunday at noon.
