Baseball Tops St. Bonaventure, 8-1

Haynes Ties Career-High with nine Strikeouts, While Runco Registers First Career Four-Hit Game

got things rolling with a single to left field and stole second.  Runco then reached on a bunt single to put a pair of runners on base.  After a strikeout, Charles Galiano singled to left to bring home Donadio from second.  Later in the frame, Rob McCunney delivered another RBI-single to score Galiano from second.
 
Fordham pitcher Kirk Haynes, Jr. had St. Bonaventure batters fooled for the most part through the first seven innings, allowing just one hit over that stretch.
 
The Bonnies though scratched a run across in the eighth to make it a 6-1 game on a sacrifice fly by Dylan Dunn, which scored Thad Johnson from third.
 
 The Rams finished the scoring in the ninth, as Judisky hit a bullet down the left field line for a two-run double, scoring Runco and Galiano.
 
Haynes (2-3) earned the win, pitching a season-high 8.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits and tied a season-high with nine strikeouts.  Cody Johnson recorded the final two outs on a pair of strikeouts to seal the game.
 
At the plate, every Ram had at least one hit in the game, led by Runco, who had his first career four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base.  Judisky was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI, while Galiano was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
 
The same two teams will play game two of this series on Saturday at noon.
