Radice, Hodges Named A-10 Legends

Fordham's Second Leading Scorer and Current Assistant Among Honorees

On Friday morning in Richmond, Va., the Atlantic 10 welcomed its second class of A-10 Legends, honoring the careers of 13 outstanding former women's basketball athletes for their contributions to the game of basketball.

From Fordham, Jeanine Radice received the accolade of A-10 Legend, having finished her career ranked second on the Fordham all-time scoring list.  The Staten Island, N.Y., native scored 2,417 points over her four years at Rose Hill, averaging 21.8 points per game for her career despite only having the use of the three point arc for two of those years.  From beyond the arc, Radice was deadly, still holding the mark as the school's leader in three-point percentage (47.5%).

Hardly just a scorer, Radice still ranks as one of the most complete players to ever grace the floor of the Rose Hill Gym, sitting at third on the all-time assists list with 413 and fourth on the career steals list with 184.  Over her four years at Fordham, Radice also converted on over 85 percent of her tries from the charity stripe.

In terms of single season records, Radice holds the top two spots on the scoring list, having finished the season with 686 and 667 points in 1988-89 and 1986-87, respectively.  Oddly enough, her highest scoring average came in neither of those campaigns, as Radice poured in 24.8 points per outing during her junior season in 1987-88.  During that 1987-88 season, Radice also set the Fordham single game scoring record, putting up 40 points against Drexel on December 5th.

Current Fordham assistant head coach Dale Hodges was also honored during the ceremony, earning the title of A-10 Legend for her illustrious career at Saint Joseph's University.

In her three years on Hawk Hill, Hodges put together one of the most impressive runs in the history of the conference, scoring 2,077 points and 1,049 rebounds in just 94 games.  Averaging 22.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game for career, Hodges ranks second on the conference's career scoring average list and fifth on the career rebounding average list.

As a senior in 1989-90, Hodges put together perhaps the finest season in Atlantic 10 history, averaging 27.6 points and 12 rebounds per game, earning First Team All-American and Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors for the second straight year.  Her 855 points that year still rank as the most ever by an A-10 player in a single season.

Following her career at Saint Joe's in which she also earned Big 5 Player of the Year honors twice, Hodges played professional basketball on three continents.

Hodges began working at Fordham in the summer of 2013.

The Rams open up play at the A-10 Championship tonight at 7:30 PM, taking on the Duquesne Dukes in the Richmond Coliseum.
