Presbyterian scored four runs in the bottom of the first to jump ahead of the Rams and never surrendered the lead, topping Fordham 9-3 in Spartanburgh, S.C., on Saturday afternoon.

Chandler Knox picked up the win for the Blue Hose, while
Tim Swatek registered the loss for the Rams. On the season, Fordham now sits at 0-2,while Presbyterian moved to 4-1-1.

Rob McCunney had a solid day at the dish for the Rams, registering three hits in four at bats, including a solo home run to left in the fifth inning, his first of the season.Â

Despite picking up the loss on the hill, Swatek did well at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI single in the fourth.

Brendan Maghini picked up the Rams' other RBI in the sixth inning on a grounder to third.

The Blue Hose started the scoring with a two-run homer off the bat of Brad Zebedis in the bottom of the first and added two more on a pair on a pair of RBI singles before the inning was over.

Presbyterian added four more in the bottom of the third on another homer, this time from Cam McRae before two more singles brought in three runs and gave the Blue Hose an 8-0 advantage.

Swatek responded in the top of the fourth with an RBI of his own to make it 8-1, but Presbyterian plated one more in the bottom of the frame for their final run.

McCunney and Maghini brought home two more runs over the next two innings before Presbyterian closed out the victory.

The Rams have one more game on the weekend, facing off against Pittsburgh tomorrow at noon in Spartanburg.
