Gaitley Speaks at Building Bridges Event

Sponsored by The Business Council of Westchester

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Fordham University women's basketball head coach Stephanie Gaitley was one of four Division I basketball coaches to speak Thursday morning in the round table discussion "Play To Win: On and Off the Court" that was sponsored by Building Bridges, an organization of The Business Council of Westchester.

The discussion focused on how Division I coaches teach leadership skills and how those on-court skills transform to success in the business world once athletes leave school. In addition to Gaitley, Marist women's basketball head coach Brian Giorgis, Iona men's basketball head coach Tim Cluess and Pace men's basketball head coach Pat Kennedy (former Division I head coach) were on the panel, which was moderated by Walt Fowler, Sports Director/Anchor for News 12 Westchester.

Gaitley is currently in her fourth season at Fordham and has compiled back-to-back 25 win seasons while bringing home the school's first-ever Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship in 2014. The winner of 533 career games (29 seasons) and the third winningest coach in Atlantic 10 history, Gaitley has led a team to the NCAA Tournament on eight occasions, compiling 14 20-win seasons and five conference titles in the process. She has the Rams off to a 6-4 start this year and is 69-39 in her tenure on Rose Hill.
