Atlantic 10 Conference Schedule Announced

Rams Will Appear on National Television Three Times in 2013-2014

Atlantic 10 Release

BRONX, N.Y.-  Coming off a 2013 Atlantic 10 season that saw Fordham record more than double its previous best conference win total, the Rams have learned the details of their 2014 league schedule.

Fordham will gain national TV exposure three times over the course of the 16 game conference schedule, with two games on CBS Sports Network and one on ESPNU.

"Last year was a record setting year for Fordham Women's Basketball and it's exciting  that our success has been rewarded with three nationally televised games," said Head Coach Stephanie Gaitley.  "This exposure will continue to shine a light on what an outstanding university Fordham is and the new found respect people have for our program."

The Rams open their 2014 conference slate early in the New Year, hosting fellow Jesuit institution Saint Louis on Thursday, January 2nd.  This game against the Billikens marks the first of three on national TV appearances for the Rams, as the contest will be aired on CBS Sports Network.

Following their match up against the Billikens, the Rams hit the road for the first time in A-10 play, traveling north to Amherst for a contest against UMass on Saturday, January 5th.

After the Minutewomen, it's back to the Rose Hill Gym for a pair of games.  The Rams will host Duquesne, one of only two teams to best Fordham in A-10 play last season, on Wednesday, January 8th, before welcoming Richmond to the Bronx on Saturday, January 11th.

The Rams are on the road again for a pair of games after that, traveling to Richmond for a matchup against VCU on Wednesday, January 15th, before heading out to Dayton for a Sunday afternoon contest against the Flyers.  Fordham's game against Dayton will be televised nationally on ESPNU and will tip off at 3:30 PM.

Following their second TV game of the season, the Rams return to the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym for two contests.  Fordham will play host to UMass in their second meeting of the year on Saturday, January 25th, before welcoming the Rams of URI on Wednesday, January 29th.     The UMass game will also serve as Fordham's Alumni Day.

Coach Gaitley's squad will kick off the month of February on the road, traveling to Olean, New York, for a Saturday tilt against St. Bonaventure on February 1st.  After taking on the Bonnies, the Rams will then complete the second half of their home-and-home series with Saint Louis, tipping off against the Billikens on Wednesday, February 5th, inside Chaifetz Arena.

Saturday, February 8th, will mark Fordham's "Think Pink" game for the 2013 season when the Rams host George Washington.  The contest will help to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

The Rams then head south once again, traveling to Richmond for a showdown with the Spiders on Tuesday, February 11th.  The Richmond game will mark the final national TV appearance for the Rams in the 2013-2014 regular season, with the game airing on CBS Sports Network at 7 PM.

The Rams then head back to the Bronx, where they will welcome La Salle for Senior Day on Saturday, February 15th.

Following a trip to the AJ Palumbo Center for a match up with Duquesne one week later, the Rams will close out their 2013-2014 home schedule on Wednesday, February 26th, when they host Atlantic 10 newcomer George Mason in the Rose Hill Gym.

The Rams will close out conference play on the road, traveling to The City of Brotherly Love for a tilt against Saint Joseph's in Hagan Arena on Sunday, March 2nd.

As was announced last week, the 2014 Atlantic 10 Women's Championship will be hosted by the city of Richmond, Va., from March 5th-9th.
