SERIES HISTORY AGAINST STONY BROOK: This will be the second ever meeting between Fordham and Stony Brook.  The first came last season at Stony Brook, where the Seawolves came away with a 2-1 victory.

In that contest, Stony Brook's Leonardo Fernandes broke a 1-1 tie in the 63rd minute to gie the Seawolves a 2-1 win.  Kalle Sotka scored the lone goal for Fordham off a Kyle Bitterman cross, while Alejandro Fritz was the other goal scorer for the Seawolves.

In net, Sean Brailey made eight saves for the Rams, while Stefan Manz had two stops for Stony Brook.

LAST TIME OUT: Going into Saturday night's match-up with Army, the Fordham men's soccer team knew it would be a tough task to come away with a decision, as the Black Knights had not allowed a goal in their first four games. In the end, the defensive struggle was not decided until the 104th minute of overtime, where Army snuck away with a 1-0 victory over the Rams at Clinton Field in West Point, N.Y.

Scoring chances were limited through regulation with each team registering only one shot on goal in the first half.  Army's chance came early in the sixth minute off a Sean Morgan shot, while Fordham's opportunity was in the 33rd minute off the boot of Nathaniel Bekoe.  On both occasions, the goalkeepers, Alex Naples for Fordham and Winston Boldt for Army, came up with the stop.

Fordham had the next scoring chance early in the second half, as Boldt made a nice stop on Fordham freshman Jon Agostino just 1:27 into the period.

Neither team would record another shot on goal until the second session of overtime. Naples made a save on Army's Ethan Spivack in the 102nd minute, but would get beat in the 104th minute.  Near the sideline, Tanner Vosvick lobbed a pass near the top of the box.  Christian Ollen quickly one-touched the ball to Trase Stapley, who ripped a shot just inside the upper left corner for his first goal of the season.

Army finished the night with a 15-9 edge in shots, and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

BALANCED ATTACK: Through the first five games, Fordham has five goals this season from five different players.  For three of these players, Andrew Hickey, Jon Agostino, and Ryan Cupolo, it was their first career goal.  Taylor Gulbins and Ryan Walsh round out the scoring tallies.

WHO'S NEXT: Following today's game, the Fordham men's soccer team has two games next week.  The Rams play at Temple on Wednesday, September 25th, at 3:00 PM, while returning for a home contest against Columbia on Sunday, September 29th at 4:30 PM.
