Off a tough 1-0 loss on Tuesday, the Fordham men's soccer team is back in action on Saturday, when the Rams travel to West Point to meet the Army Black Knights at 7:30 PM.

Fordham will have its work cut out for them, as Army is 4-0-0 this season, including a 3-0 mark at home.  Thus far, the Black Knights have yet to concede a goal, while averaging two goals per game on offense.  Ethan Spivack and Nick Williams each have two goals to lead Army in scoring, while Winston Boldt has recorded 15 saves in the four shutout wins.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST ARMY: This is the 27th all-time meeting between the Rams and Black Knights with Army holding a 12-11-3 edge in the series, which dates back to 1953.

After that 1953 game, Fordham and Army played every year from 1980-2006, with the Rams earning victories in each of the last four match-ups.  Prior to that, Army had won nine of ten contests.

LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern's Matt Callahan scored the only goal of the game just 1:26 into the second half, as the Huskies defeated the Fordham Rams, 1-0, at Parsons Field in Brookline, Massachusetts.

With the loss, Fordham goes to 2-2-0 on the year, while Northeastern improved to 2-1-1.

Neither team registered much offense in the first half.  Fordham's first true opportunity came in the 34th minute, when Nathaniel Bekoe took a free kick from 30 yards out.  The ball was headed out toward Ollie Kelly outside of the box for a shot, but Kelly's attempt sailed high.

The Huskies almost put a tally in the final second of the first half, as Christian McKenna lobbed a shot toward the upper 90.  Fordham goalkeeper Alex Naples would punch it just over the crossbar out of harm's way to keep the game scoreless.

Northeastern though would get that first goal just 1:26 into the second half.  Following a corner kick, Donovan Fayd took a shot which was stopped, but Matt Callahan pounced on the rebound to score his first goal of the season.

The Rams were limited on the offense end to just five shots in the game with just one on net.  That shot came in the 86th minute, off the boot of Tommy Granot, but it was handled by Northeastern netminder Dylan Faber to clinch the win.

Naples finished the contest with six saves, while Faber had one.

BALANCED ATTACK: Through the first four games, Fordham has five goals this season from five different players.  For three of these players, Andrew Hickey, Jon Agostino, and Ryan Cupolo, it was their first career goal.  Taylor Gulbins and Ryan Walsh round out the scoring tallies.

WHO'S NEXT: Following today's game, the Fordham men's soccer team returns home for a Friday night showdown with Stony Brook on September 20th at 7:00 PM.
