Newport News, Va. (December 2, 2013) – Fordham University freshman guard Jon Severe was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played November 25-December 1 it was announced by the league office today. Severe wins his second A-10 weekly award, having also been named rookie of the week on November 11.
 
Severe was also recognized by ESPN's Jeff Goodman who added him to the latest version of his Freshman Tracker, ranking Severe as the tenth best freshman in the country.
 
In the Rams' lone contest on the week, a 79-75 win at Manhattan College in the annual Battle of the Bronx, Severe netted a game-high 30 points, shooting 4-for-9 from behind the arc, and he added five rebounds to earn game MVP honors.
 
On the season Severe is averaging an Atlantic 10-best 23.2 ppg, 13^th in the NCAA and tops among all NCAA Division I freshmen (through games of December 1).
 
The Rams (3-2) return to action on Wednesday, December 4, as they host the Furman University Paladins in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
