After going 2-1 on Saturday, the Fordham squash team looked to finish the weekend on a high note with the squad first home match against NYU on Sunday.  However, the Violets had other ideas, putting together an 8-1 win over the Rams at the Lombardi Center Squash Courts.

With the loss, Fordham's record is now 4-4 on the season.

Fordham's lone point came off the racket of Paul Monaghan, who defeated Yale Kim at the third slot in straight sets, 13-11, 11-3, and 11-7.

The Rams almost snuck a point out in the seventh slot, as Carlos Ortiz was up 2-1 on NYU's Arvind Ramgopal.  Ramgopal though rallied back to win the final two sets and win the match in five.

The only other match to go longer than three sets was at the ninth slot, where Fordham's James Potts fell to Aakash Shah, 9-11, 11-6, 11-3, and 11-6.

The Fordham squash team will next be in action on January 24-26, as the Rams travel to Charlottesville, Virginia for a tournament at the University of Virginia.
