The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the major award winners and All-Conference teams for men's soccer on Wednesday.  Among those honored was Fordham's Andrew Hickey, who was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.
 
Hickey, a native of Kilkenny, Ireland, came full circle with the selection to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, as he was a preseason All-Rookie Team pick, back in August.
 
Hickey started all 15 games he appeared in, tying for the team lead in goals (2) and points (4) and was one of the Rams' primary players for corner kicks.  He was the lone freshman to start every conference game for Fordham this season, primarily at defender.  Defensively, he helped Fordham record a  1.36 goals against average and four shutouts, and had one game-winning goal, which came against Massachusetts.
 
This is the third straight season that Fordham has put at least one player on the All-Rookie Team and the tenth overall under head coach Jim McElderry in 11 seasons.
