Fordham Partners with SNY for Basketball Television Package

Eleven men’s games, one women’s game, to be broadcast live on SNY

Bronx, N.Y. (October 28, 2013) - Fordham University basketball fans will have plenty of opportunities to watch the Rams in action thanks to a partnership between Fordham and SNY it was announced today. SNY – the television home of the New York Mets and Jets – will broadcast eleven Fordham men's games and one women's game.
 
"We are excited to partner with SNY to showcase Fordham basketball and look forward to being a part of SNY's outstanding programming," said Fordham Director of Athletics Dave Roach.

The SNY television schedule start on opening night with a doubleheader in the historic Rose Hill Gym as the Fordham women host the University of San Francisco at 6:00 p.m. and the men open their season with Saint Francis (Pa.) University at 8:30 p.m.
 
Other men's home games to be televised include Lehigh (Nov. 15), Howard (Dec. 14), Harvard (Dec. 28), Richmond (Jan. 11), Dayton (Jan. 15), Rhode Island (Feb. 1), St. Bonaventure (Feb. 12) and George Washington (Mar. 8).  SNY will also carry two Fordham men's basketball road contests at George Washington (Feb. 8) and at Richmond (Feb. 15).
 
"SNY is excited to be able to provide New York area fans with a full-slate of Fordham basketball games this coming season,"   said Gary Morgenstern, SNY's SVP of Programming.  "As the home of 'All Things New York Sports' – Fordham is a natural fit for the network." 
 
"We are thrilled to be working with SNY for our television package," said Fordham men's basketball head coach Tom Pecora. "The exposure Fordham will receive from being on one of the country's top regional sports networks will be tremendous and will generate interest both in the New York City area and nationally."

The SNY package brings the total number of Fordham men's televised basketball games to 18. These include two appearances on the NBC Sports Network (at Saint Louis on January 18 and home with La Salle on March 1), one on the CBS Sports Network (home for VCU on February 27) as well as one on ESPN3 (at Syracuse on November 12). The Fordham-St. John's game at Madison Square Garden on December 7 will be carried on the MSG Network while the game at VCU on January 29 will be televised on the local CBS affiliate in Richmond and the Siena game on December 30 is slated to be televised but no information in available on the station at this time.
 
On the women's side, the Rams will have three other televised games, appearing twice on the CBS Sports Network, first when they host Saint Louis University on January 3 and then in a conference game at the University of Richmond on February 11. The Fordham women will also appear on ESPNU when they travel to the University of Dayton on January 19.
