Dayton, Ohio - With only two games left, the Fordham women's soccer team traveled to Dayton on Sunday, hoping to improve its playoff position.  The Rams got off to a great start, scoring late in the first half to take the lead, but three second half goals by the Flyers gave Dayton the 3-1 win.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 4-9-3 overall, 2-4-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Dayton improved to 11-4-1 on the year, 6-0 in the league.

Dayton, one of the toughest places to play in the Atlantic 10, went quiet in the first half, as Fordham scored the opening goal of the game in the 42nd minute.  Fordham's Ivana Lahcanski took a long kick from 40 yards out toward the six-yard box.  Dayton goalkeeper Elizabeth James came out of the goal to try and field it, but Kate McDonnell's quick head flick got past James for her first goal of the season.

The Flyers wasted little time in the second half to knot the game at one in the 51st minute.  Nicole Waters sent a long pass ahead, which Fordham goalkeeper Ally White tried to slide and catch, but the ball bounced away to Ashley Campbell, who scored her 13th goal of the season.

The score remained tied until the 74th minute, when Campbell was tripped up in the box, awarding a penalty kick to the Flyers.  Juliana Libertin then stepped up to the penalty spot and scored her fifth goal of the season to the upper left corner on the penalty kick.

Dayton then added an insurance marker in the 88th minute, as Libertin netted her second goal of the game.  A long ball by Waters sent Libertin on a breakaway.  White came out to try and knock the ball away, but Libertin sidestepped White to her left and scored into the empty net.

In net, White made seven saves for Fordham, while James had four saves for the Flyers.

The Rams' playoff hopes will now hinge on the final game of the season at home against Duquesne on Friday, October 1st, at 7:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field.  Fordham will need a win and some help in order to make the eight-team championship field.
