Following their dramatic win on Friday night, Fordham's Kim Boulos and Katie Sanchez left little doubt in Sunday's match-up with Manhattan, as they combined for three goals and three assists in a 4-1 victory at Jack Coffey Field.
With the win, Fordham improves to 3-1-1 on the year, while Manhattan drops to 3-2-0.
Fordham opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Katie McDermott stole away a Manhattan goal kick, giving the ball to Katie Sanchez. Sanchez then one touched the ball to Kim Boulos, who rifled it home for her second goal of the season.
In the second half, Sanchez found the back of the net on a give-and-go with Boulos in the 48th minute for her second of the season.
Sanchez and Boulos connected again in the 54th minute, as Sanchez headed a Manhattan goal kick back toward the box, which Boulos was able to slide the ball past the Manhattan keeper for her second goal of the game and third of the season.
Manhattan got on board in the 64th minute, as Amanda Fischer lobbed a shot just over Fordham keeper Elisabeth Roald for her first goal of the season.
The Rams though closed out the scoring in the 83rd minute. After a Fordham corner kick was deflected out of the box, Kelsey Walker blasted a shot from 25 yards out to the upper left corner of the net for her first career goal.
In net, Roald made four saves for Fordham, while Caitlin Trupiano and Alyssa Bachowski each had two saves for the Jaspers.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, September 19th, as they play at the Duke/adidas Classic in Durham, N.C., against the 12th-ranked Duke Blue Devils at 7:30 PM.
