Jessica (Powers) Mason, Former Director of Operations for the Wagner College athletic department, joined the Fordham Athletics staff as the Coordinator of Ticket Operations in August of 2008, where she is responsible for all ticket operation issues, as well as team travel. She was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Tickets and Business Affairs in October of 2011.
Powers came to Rose Hill after serving as the Director of Operations for the Wagner College athletic department from June of 2007, her second shift at her alma mater. She was responsible for game management of all home sports events, including handling the set-up for all athletic events, supervising the student event staff and creating and updating all visiting team guides. Powers also directed the upkeep and maintenance of all outdoor facilities at Wagner as well as assisting in the supervision of the Spiro Sports Center.
Prior to her stint at Wagner, Powers served as a Game Operations Assistant at Duke University from December of 2006 until May of 2007. Her duties include assisting the director of facilities and game operations staff in all aspects of home athletic competitions and serving as the department's liaison for visiting team and officials. She also assisted in the set-up and break-down of all events at Cameron Indoor Stadium and served as the game manager for various spring sports. While at Duke, the Blue Devils hosted the 2007 Men's ACC Lacrosse championship as well as the first round of the 2007 NCAA Championship for men's tennis and women's lacrosse.
Powers got her start at Duke in August of 2006 when she assumed the role of Academic Coordinator for Student-Athletes, a position she held until moving to the game operations staff. She was responsible for the academic progress and success of the student-athletes for various Duke teams as well as assisting student-athletes with academic issues such as registration and course selection.
A 2003 graduate of Wagner College, Powers received a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in sociology while also earning four letters with the swimming squad and two in water polo. She was a member of the 2003 MAAC women's water polo championship team and served as a team captain for swimming from 2001-03. Powers also was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Academic Team in 2002 and 2003.
After graduating, Powers remained at Wagner as a graduate assistant with the Facilities and Event/Game Day Operations staff while working on her Master's degree in Education, which she received in 2006. She also served as an assistant water polo coach with the Seahawks over that period, helping Wagner to the 2005 MAAC title and NCAA tournament appearance.
