Therno (pronounced cheir-no) Diallo was been named Senior Associate Athletic Director of Facilities and Event Management at Fordham University in August of 2025.
“We're thrilled to welcome Therno and his family to our organization. He brings a fresh perspective and a tremendous work ethic to Fordham Athletics,” Fordham Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie said. “While Thernos will primarily focus on oversight of facilities and operations, he will also be a key member of our leadership team and will be instrumental in many of our day-to-day decisions.”
At Fordham, Diallo will oversee all athletic facilities, equipment, and game/event management operations within the Athletics Department. This includes directing, organizing, and supervising the operations of all University athletic facilities. He will coordinate scheduling of all practices, games, outside rentals, and other events for all athletic facilities and oversee event management and game day administration for all home contests and events.
Diallo comes to Fordham after serving as the director of facilities, events, and operations at Rutgers University. He started with the Scarlet Knights in January of 2021 as an assistant director and earned two promotions over the past four years. He served as the operations liaison for: men's basketball, women's soccer, women's lacrosse, women's swimming, and women's rowing -- while also supporting external operations for football game day. He was appointed as the special events liaison to the development office and the commencement office to plan and execute donor engagement events and university graduations held in athletic facilities. In addition, he managed the day-to-day operations of the RWJ Barnabas Athletic Performance Center and Yurcak Field as it relates to scheduling, work order requests, branding and overall space assessment.
Prior to Rutgers, Diallo worked as the assistant athletic director for events/marketing at DePauw University where he oversaw game operations, community relations, concessions operations, facilities and marketing for 23 varsity sports. He served as the staff advisor for the cheer/spirit squad, student-athletes of color affinity group, and the Hoosier Hospitality program. He worked closely with human resources to manage personnel vacancies within the athletics department.
Before DePauw, Diallo served as the C.D Henry intern with the Big Ten Conference, working extensively with the league’s football championship game and men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. He also served as the secondary sport liaison for men’s tennis and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field. Diallo worked as an athletic administrative intern at Francis Marion University and athletic operations intern at John Jay College before joining the Big Ten Conference.
Diallo earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management at SUNY Cortland where he was a football student-athlete. He later completed a master’s degree in sport administration at Canisius College.
