Paul Casey, former assistant rowing coach at Holy Cross, was named assistant rowing coach at Fordham in September of 2021.
Casey spent the 2020-2021 season at Holy Cross, serving as an assistant women’s rowing coach for the Crusaders. He was responsible for recruiting and supported the head coach with on-the-water practices as well as serving as the primary coach of the second varsity eight.
Prior to joining the Crusaders, Casey spent two years as an assistant men’s lightweight rowing coach at Princeton from 2017-2019. He helped the Tigers to second place finishes at the IRA Championship in both 2018 and 2019, in addition to a second place finish at the Eastern Sprints in 2018. Casey was previously an assistant men’s rowing coach at Boston University from 2016-2017.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Casey has also coached on the high school and club levels with the Hewitt School (New York, N.Y.), the Cambridge Boat Club (Cambridge, Mass.) and the Wayland-Weston Rowing Association (Wayland, Mass.). He was also the owner of RegattaGo! Transport, a rowing shell transportation company.
Casey is a 2014 graduate of Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. He was a member of the Bombers’ varsity rowing team during his time as an undergraduate, and went on to train with the Pennsylvania Athletic Club and the Riverside Boat Club.
